Penny had recently moved to Camarillo seeking a fresh start near her family. However, her transition was fraught with unexpected challenges. Due to delays in the availability of her new trailer home, Penny faced three months of instability, relying on temporary accommodations such as motels and couches. This period of uncertainty left her physically, emotionally, and financially strained.

Compounding her difficulties, Penny learned she required multiple tooth extractions—a critical dental procedure quoted at a cost far beyond her limited means. The news was overwhelming, leaving her uncertain about how she could afford the care she desperately needed.

“At that point, I lost it,” Penny shared.

Fortunately, Penny was referred to the Conejo Free Clinic, a pivotal moment that marked the beginning of her recovery. From her initial call, the Clinic’s staff provided Penny with compassionate support and access to essential dental care.

"You have no idea; it’s like somebody up there was on my side. They said, 'Okay, you’ve suffered enough. We’re going to help you out on this one.' It was like the stars were aligned," Penny said.

Through the dedicated efforts of Dr. Les Sutton, Sheri Jo, and the Clinic’s exceptional dental team, Penny underwent the necessary treatments completely free of charge. Multiple visits and adjustments transformed her oral health and, more importantly, her outlook on life.

“Now I have a full smile,” Penny expressed. “It’s a miracle. I’m so grateful—it’s improved my quality of life so much. I can’t praise this whole program enough.”
