Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the heart of our Clinic. Join a compassionate, collaborative community where you can make a lasting impact and bring hope to those who need it most.

There Are So Many Ways to Help

Administrative Volunteers

The Conejo Free Clinic depends on the dedication of dozens of administrative volunteers each year to support various essential operations. Most volunteers choose a schedule that works best for them, whether that’s one or more days a week, a month, or as their availability allows.

Administrative volunteers assist with a variety of tasks, including screening new patients to determine eligibility, providing language support (especially Spanish), maintaining medical records, facility upkeep, data entry, and compiling statistics. Additionally, volunteers may take part in special projects that require focused efforts, ensuring the clinic operates efficiently and inclusively.

Legal Volunteers

We assist clients in family law, immigration, bankruptcy, wills/trusts, and tenant/landlord disputes through our Legal Volunteer Program. We welcome licensed attorneys in California who are interested in providing pro bono legal consultation services to our community.

Additionally, we seek volunteers to help screen calls and refer clients to attorneys based on their legal needs. If you are interested in becoming a Legal Volunteer—either as a practicing attorney or as part of our client intake and referral team—please contact us.

Medical and Dental Professional Volunteers

Our medical and dental clinics are powered by an exceptional team of volunteer healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants.

We also welcome specialists to join our Private Practice Partner Program, extending our impact beyond clinic walls and ensuring Conejo Free Clinic patients receive specialized care in the most appropriate setting. Our program includes Dermatology, Cardiology, Rheumatology, and various dental specialties, providing comprehensive support to those in need.

To join our team, providers must hold a valid California license, and the Clinic maintains a malpractice policy to support our volunteers.

Community Engagement
Volunteers

Help Conejo Free Clinic reach more people in need! Volunteers are needed to support community events, tabling, and public outreach efforts, playing a vital role in connecting individuals and families with our services. With flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, this is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Current Volunteer Needs

We are currently seeking volunteer receptionists, nurses, physicians, dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, legal intake screeners and attorneys to join our team. Most volunteer physicians and dentists serve one four-hour shift per month, though some choose to volunteer weekly or biweekly. Morning clinic shifts run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and afternoon shifts are from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

While most positions require a minimum one-year commitment due to the resources we invest in training, we occasionally have temporary opportunities available. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re interested in these shorter-term roles.

If you are interested in volunteering, please submit the volunteer application form to Eileen Harris at eileenharris@conejofreeclinic.org
