WHEREAS, the Conejo Free Clinic is a non-profit
health care and legal aid provider in Thousand Oaks that is
staffed by civic-minded volunteer professionals in the fields
of medicine, law, and social service who work collaboratively
to meet important needs that residents could not otherwise
afford; and
WHEREAS, Sharron Baird co-founded the Conejo
Free Clinic in 1975, and has nurtured its growth over thirty-three
years, first as a volunteer and then as an administrator,
executive director, and director of development; and
WHEREAS, Sharron Baird has been a vital
part of the work of the Conejo Free Clinic, creating an efficient
and caring clinic environment where each client is valued
as an individual and treated with dignity and respect; and
WHEREAS, across thirty-three years of her
work with the Conejo Free Clinic, Sharron Baird has further
enriched our community by setting an example for youth and
for residents of all ages of how a committed individual can
work to change the world for the better;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the
Ventura County Board of Supervisors takes great pleasure in
commending Sharron Baird on her extraordinary contributions
to improving the health and well-being of Ventura County's
residents, and on the occasion of her retirement from the
Conejo Free Clinic wishes her continued success in all future
endeavors.
